Many Dayton Chapter members got
their December festivities off to a flying start by attending our annual
Holiday Party at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Officers Club.
The Fireside Room was festively decorated with a lighted tree, and the
fireplace gave off a cheery glow. Lots of good food and a plentiful
supply of wine made for a festive good time for all. Thanks and
appreciation go to Randy Gallas for making arrangements with the Officers
Club, providing directions, and coordinating with base security. And
as per usual, nothing would have happened without the tireless efforts of
Edie Kreider. She tracked reservations, served as a communications
officer extraordinaire, collected dinner payments, and probably
accomplished many other tasks none of us know about. Everyone is
also appreciative of Ken Hershberger for furnishing
background holiday music with his boom box. And last, but certainly
not least, thanks go to Chapter Prez Vic Folwarczny for putting together
the program and leading the business meeting.
Holiday Party attendees included
Mike and Mary Beth Anthony, Mark Dowd, Vic Folwarczny and Sandy Wallace,
Randy and Ann Gallas, Bob and Janie Gehman, John Glaser, Ken Hershberger,
Bob and Edie Kreider, Rich Prim, Vic and Laura Rich, Dave Romanko, Lou and
Marguerite Sharp, Ron and Rae Siders, Carolyn Spiller, Jim and Sally
Valeri, and Steve and Kristi Woodall.
What's a Holiday Party without
pictures? We've got 'em, so scoll on down . . .

Talk about decorated!! Check out Mark's
sartorial splendiferance — his colorful necktie and elegant Nittany Lion
emblem. The Christmas tree almost pales in comparison to his beaming face
and accessories.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Be it known to all
men and women everywhere that Ann and Randy are now PROUD grandparents to
a new little baby girl! And how do we know? Just read the blue
"Grandparents" ribbon Randy's sporting on his lapel. Do they
have a reason to celebrate or what?

Ron Siders, Marguerite Sharp, and Rae Siders take a
break from their conversation to pose for the camera. Don't you just
love the festive holiday sweater Rae's wearing?

Carolyn Spiller, John Glaser, and new chapter
member Ken Hershberger are pictured here — smiling in anticipation of
the evening's pleasantries. Bet you didn't know that Carolyn and Ken
worked together at WDFM radio during their undergraduate days. John
is the chapter's new Vice President, and during the business meeting later
in the evening summarized some of his plans and ideas for the
future. Congratulations, and thanks, John!

In a bit of a departure from previous years, food
service was buffet style rather than family style. No matter, because
there was an abundance and variety of good food. Obviously John
Glaser and Sally Valeri are not bashful about helping themselves.

Here's the other end of the food line. There
are lots of smiles all around as folks get near the food tables.
Hmmmmm. This picture begs two questions: Is Edie Kreider
laughing, or grimacing, or what? And, is it our imagination or is
Bob Kreider checking out wife Edie?

Wow! Look at the colorful
holiday threads being worn by Jim and Sally Valeri.

There was widespread concern that Laura and Vic
Rich might not make it to the party. But better late than never, and
we see them here relaxing after dinner.

Mike and Mary Beth Anthony graciously consented to
this photo op. Mary Beth is appropriately decked out in seasonal
colors, but we're hard-pressed to find any evidence of them on Mike.

Here are two happy fellas, Dave Romanko and Rich
Prim. Both are relatively new chapter members and (now don't quote
us) this may be the first chapter holiday party either has attended.
Dave became a Board Member last spring, and organized our support of the
Think TV Channel 16 Pledge Drive.
