Freshman Send Off Picnic

Seven Dayton area students will be attending Penn State for the first time this fall and have been invited to be our special guests at the annual summer picnic and freshman send off to be held on August 5th. Additionally, as has been our tradition, the 1999-2000 school year scholarship recipient will also be honored. Edie and Bob Krieder have once again offered to host the event at their home located at 2858 College Hill Road in Beavercreek starting at 6:30 PM. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Please bring a dish to share with those attending and RSVP to Edie at 429-5501 prior to August 1 if you will be attending.

Renew Your Chapter Membership

It’s that time of the year again that we ask each of you to join or renew your membership in our local chapter. Dues are $15 per person or $20 per family and are the primary fund raiser for our scholarship fund and also offset newsletter costs, our soon to be released internet site as well as other miscellaneous expenses. Your local support is much appreciated. WE ARE PENN STATE IN THE GREATER DAYTON AND MIAMI VALLEY.

Preseason Polls Pick PSU #1

In case you haven’t been checking out the polls, some of the pollsters have picked our beloved Nittany Lions as numero uno and I must say, being deep in the heart of Buckeye country, I’m loving it! Not that this bliss doesn’t come with some concern, seeing how we open with Arizona, preseason pick at number 5 as well as playing Pitt at Pitt followed by Miami In Miami and then not to mention the usual tough Big Ten schedule as shown below.
