It might be an overstatement
describing the Dayton Chapter's Holiday Party as a night of revelry, but
there's no denying that all 34 of the Penn State stalwart attending had
a most enjoyable time. With the Fireside Room's warm ambiance, the
taste-tempting pretzel-crusted pork and almond-crusted tilapia lovingly
prepared by the O Club's chefs, and the camaraderie and good fellowship
for which our chapter is known, who could not have had an enjoyable
time? It was just what we all needed to really swing into a
holiday mood.
The festively attired attendees
included: Mike and Mary Beth Anthony; Joe and Marvia Bradley; Bernie and
Priscilla DeLong; Debbie Downes; Vic Folwarczny and Sandy Wallace; Randy
and Ann Gallas; Bob and Janie Gehman; John Glaser; Ken Hershberger and
Dee Lyons; Trish Hannah and her friend, Cecilia Hammond; Bob and Edie
Kreider; Lou and Marguerite Sharp; Ed and Mary Sherman; Ron and Rae
Siders; Bob and Helen Swab; Don and Anna Marie Tandy; Jim and Sally
Valeri; and, Jerry and Collette Zollars.

It looks like Janie Gehman and
Rae Siders are continuing the conversation they began on the football
bus trip to Indiana. So what's up with the boxing gloved,
blue-suited Santa, Rae?

And of course, what would a
holiday party be without this winsome threesome? Sally Valeri,
Debbie Downes, and Mary Beth Anthony are doing a little conversational
catching-up of their own.

Don't take my word for it that
everyone was ready to swing into a holiday mood. This smile on the
face of affable John Glaser says volumes.

Bernie DeLong, Priscilla DeLong,
Dee Lyons, and Ken Hershberger strike a holiday pose for the
camera. Don't be misled by the expression on Bernie's face.
Your overly zealous photographer pressed the shutter release ¼
second too soon — and missed a smile befitting
the Mona Lisa.

Trish Hannah and
her friend, Cecilia Hammond, helped brighten the party immensely.

Bob and Helen Swab
are becoming regulars at our holiday soirées.

Are Don and Anna
Marie Tandy enjoying themselves or what? We think they like red.

And no less cheery
are Joe and Marvia Bradley.

Marguerite and Lou Sharp are
in-place and ready to enjoy dinner. As everyone knows, Marguerite
takes delight in having a good time. Notice the mischievous look
in her eye as she shows off her blue and white Penn State Santa hat?

Sally and Jim Valeri regularly
attend our holiday parties. Jim has a keen appreciation of Penn
State football, and is not at all reluctant to share his well-studied
views on the topic.

With an enigmatic smile on his
face, Bernie waits patiently for his main course to be served.
Priscilla is ready to dine as well.

Vic Folwarczny and
Sandy Wallace beam happily while visions of sugar plums dance in their
heads.

Here we see Mary and Ed Sherman,
newcomers to our Holiday Parties. We'll look forward to seeing
them at more of our functions in 2008.

Mary Beth and Mike Anthony are
long time members of the chapter, and are attending their umpteenth
holiday party. Mike, too, has strong opinions about Nittany Lion
football.

This montage depicts the annual
fun our group enjoys as everyone tries to spot the "wood grain
dogs" in the Fireside Room's ceiling panels. This activity is
fast becoming a tradition.
