Inaugural TV Football Party at Fox and Hound |
Lions roar, then romp to 48 - 10 victory over Akron |
Dayton, Sept 4, 2004 — About 50 of the Nittany Lion faithful gathered at the Fox and Hound to watch with anticipation (some with trepidation) as Penn State opened its 2004 football season against the University of Akron. But concerns about this first game vanished quickly as the Lions scored early and often. As the score mounted emotions changed from euphoria to satisfied contentment. By halftime our chapter members felt that the game was well in hand. In the absence of John Glaser, who attended the game in person, VP Sonia Leach made good use of halftime to announce upcoming events to the assembly. Good job, Sonia. And, as usual, Edie Kreider did a superlative job in setting up the attendance sheet, laying out our giveaway items, and in general enforcing good order. |

Janie Gehman, Bob Kreider, and Deej are exuberant early on. Look at their smiles after the first Penn State touchdown. |

Young Jake Critchley volunteered to do push-up duty. We see him here in the midst of doing 21 of them after PSU's third touchdown of the first quarter. |

What's going on here? Some of our balloons got away and Fox and Hound manager Kristin volunteered to retrieve them from the rafters. We see her celebrating triumphantly as she returns the balloons to Edie. Off-camera, Deej mused rhetorically, "Who says white women can't jump?" Vic smiles in admiration. |

Future Lions Nicholas and Alesha Hamilton (and their dad and mom Al and Diane) were among the celebrants that afternoon. |
