Penn State at Ohio State, January 25, 2008

Hopes were high for yet another Penn State Wrestling Team victory as the Lions came to Columbus on January 25, 2008.  On-hand to greet, and cheer them on, were Dayton Chapter members John Glaser, Jim and Sally Valeri, and Bob Puskar. Our folks not only got great seats for the match, but also enjoyed mixing with the coaches and the team. 

John Glaser reported that Jim Valeri and Bob Puskar got to talk to head coach Troy Sunderland, as well as assistant coach Matt Dernian.  Coach Dernian was an Ohio high school Hall of Fame wrestler, and Bob got to know him when Bob's son attended a summer wrestling camp.  John also said the Dayton contingent was introduced to the team and received an ovation. 

"It was a great event," continued John.  "Unfortunately a last-minute defensive pin gave OSU a 22-19 upset victory."
