                        .
A blisteringly hot sun!  Tropical rain forest humidity!  And not a breeze to be found anywhere.  But eight members of our chapter were undaunted by the elements as they came together at 1041 South Patterson Boulevard.  This is the location of the Dayton Habitat Office, Work Center and ReSTORE.  The project for the day?  Painting exterior walls and interior railings. Hats off (or should that be "painter caps off") to Debbie Downes, Deej, Bob Gehman, John Glaser, Lou and Marguerite Sharp, and Mark and Dawn Yadlowsky for showing up to do the work. The photos that follow tell their story.
   .

Penn State - Dayton Chapter Honcho John Glaser and Habitat Honcho Frank Gorman confer to plan the day's activities.  John is planning to get into as many photos as possible today, while Frank is planning the work schedule.
                    .

This picture was taken about two hours after work activities began.  John and Deej look amazingly fresh, despite the hot and humid weather.
    .

Now here's a workin' man!  Lou Sharp is resplendent in his painter's chapeau and stylish kneepads.  John strikes a jaunty pose as he balances an 8-foot stepladder.
                                                .

Bob "The Brush" Gehman pauses from his feverish pace long enough to pose for this pic.  His painting philosophy goes something like ". . . you gotta get a little paint on yourself to get it on what you're painting."
                               ..

As amply demonstrated in this picture, John has always been adept at practical applications of geometry.  Here we see him achieving equilibrium by standing at a 30 degree angle to counterbalance his stepladder.  John also solves quadratic equations in his spare time.
     .

Debbie Downes wields a mean paint brush on this railing.  Here we see her, deep in the bowels of the Habitat Work Center, slapping Penn State blue over Ohio State crimson.  Could this be a foreshadowing?
                            ...

Not to be outdone by her painting companion, Marguerite Sharp ably demonstrates her own prowess with a genuine hogshead bristle paintbrush.
    .

Dawn and Mark Yadlowsky were the last to arrive at the Work Center, but they worked long and hard.  Here we see them beaming with smiles of satisfaction at a job well done.
