Dayton Chapter
supports ThinkTV 16 Auction
|
Under the guidance and coordination
of Honcho Dave Romanko, nine of our chapter members turned out to support
ThinkTV Channel 16's Auction on Wednesday, April 9th. As everyone
knows, ThinkTV uses funds raised through the auction to acquire quality
programming for the viewing public.
In addition to Dave, other chapter
members answering phones included Mike Anthony, Mark Dowd, Chapter Prez
Vic Folwarczny, Bob Gehman, Edie Kreider, Susan Solo and Mark Keller, and
Carolyn Spiller.
Everyone who participates in this
annual events knows what a rewarding experience it is. Hectic?
Yes! Hot under those spot lights and kleig lights?
Absolutely! A little stressful handling 30+ phone calls in rapid
succession? No doubt about it! But what a tremendous feeling
of satisfaction to know you've played an important role in supporting
quality television.
Here's the wrap-up in pictures and
narrative. See for yourself what an exciting time we had.

The facade at 110 South Jefferson
Street is fast becoming a familiar sight to those chapter members who
regularly participate in ThinkTV's auctions and membership drives.

Time to relax and enjoy
refreshments in the "Green Room" prior to our orientation by the
ThinkTV Staff. From left to right are Mike Anthony, Edie Kreider,
Carolyn Spiller, and Susan Solo. Dave Romanko, Mark Keller, and Mark
Dowd are standing in the background. As usual, the station's staff
provided lots of eats.

Oops! Looks like the camera
caught Mark with a mouth full of some type of culinary delight.
Carolyn, however, strikes a much more attractive pose as she demurely
probes with her fork.

Susan Solo and Mark Keller were
on-hand to lend their support. In case you didn't know, Susan is
pregnant and let it be known she wanted to sit at a telephone at the end
of a row. Wonder why?

|
Here they are — well, most of
them anyway. As you can plainly see, Susan got her seat at the end
of a row.

Meet Krista, our savvy
"Co-Chairperson of Bid-Takers." She was our mentor and
all-around go to girl for guidance, answers, and a steadying
influence.

This picture provides a glimpse of
what's happening on the studio floor during the auction. Note that
Vic Folwarczny is all business as he intently takes down important caller
information. Vic says he didn't receive even one obscene phone call that
night. More's the pity.
