Think TV Pledge Drive |
March 4, 2001 |
Early spring at Think TV Dayton Pubic Broadcasting's Channels 16 & 14 means pulling out all the stops for a Pledge Drive. And as has become a tradition, our chapter was there to man the phones and take calls on Sunday night, March 4th. Our twelve volunteers were at their stations from 8 PM until 11 PM, and helped Think TV exceed its $2,000 goal for that time block. Bolstered by an IAMS Pet Food challenge, pledges totaling $2,500 were received. As usual, our members enjoyed the camaraderie, the refreshments provided by Think TV's staff, and the sense of satisfaction that comes from a worthwhile job well done.Scroll down this page and you'll see glimpses of your fellow Penn Staters doing their good deed and having fun in the process. |

What's the source of amusement? Randy Gallas, Mark Dowd, Justin Anthony, and Mike Anthony check out the list of gift selections available for pledging viewers. We don't know for sure, but the word on the street is the guys were chortling over "Magnificent Lovemaking, the CD-ROM and Sticky Notes." Art Felicangeli seems unconcerned. |

Randy and Ann Gallas, shown here, are working feverishly to handle the calls routed their way. Edie Kreider, on the other hand, seems distracted. |

Kay High and Kitty Lindsman were the super-personable on-camera personalities for the Sunday night Pledge Drive. They did a great job in convincing viewers to pledge generously. |

Michelle Jakoboski is poised to take more calls. Michelle quickly established a reputation as a smooth-talking pledge taker her pledges far surpassing those of deskmates Mark Dowd and Bob Gehman. |

What kind of hi-jinx are those kids up to? Who said manning the phones is all work and no play? Jeff and Jenna would surely disagree. Art, however, is studiously checking out the Pledge Form. |
