First football party at the Fox and Hound

OK!  OK!  Maybe the game wasn't the blow-out many of us were hoping for, but our beloved Nittany Lions handled the Temple Owls handily in racking up a 23 - 10 victory.  Our rendezvous for weekly football parties is the Fox and Hound again this year.  And what a party it was!  Plentiful good food and beverages and 60+ Penn State enthusiasts made for a wonderful day.

One of the first sights to greet football partygoers was the industrious Bill Ashbaugh and Edie Kreider, seen here laying out our table of giveaway items.   Edie did a great job taking charge of things, coordinating weeks ahead of time with Fox and Hound management, and doing one hundred and one other things to make sure all went well.

We're not sure we captured everyone with this shot, but this picture should be convincing proof that we well nigh had a full house.

Beth Overmeyer and Janie Gehman took time to get to know each other a bit better during the game.  Beth recently returned from a trip to Australia.  Blimey and G'day to you, Beth!

Jenny McCarthy and Mike Zollars consented to this photo op.  Look closely and you might be able to see Mike's lion head peering out from the middle of the picture.  Dare we say (whisper, whisper)  that Jenny and Mike are engaged?

We sure hope Jenna Gallas checks out this picture of Tom.  (Did we get this right, Ann?)

Little lioness Alison Renee Stonecypher, Randy and Ann Gallas' granddaughter, is wide-eyed with wonderment at the beautiful touchdown pass thrown by Zack Mills.  Kathy Botti looks very pleased to be holding Alison Renee.

Filling in admirably for out-of-town Prez Vic Folwarczny, the indispensable Edie Kreider holds the crowd in rapt attention during halftime as she makes several important announcements.  Look closely and you might be able to see a Nittany Lion head sitting on a chair in the far corner.  Thanks go to Susie Solo who asked everyone to raise their glasses in a toast to our departed friend, Ed Daniel.
                                          .

Is this a spirited and good-looking group or what?  Dawn Yad, Mark Keller, Deej, Susie Solo, and Mike Zollars show their unbounded joy at the game's progress.  If you look very closely you might be able to discern the Nittany Lion head peeking out from between Deej and Mike.

The Van Fleet Family made an afternoon of watching the game with us.  Seated left to right are Jeff ('83), Catie or Rachel, Sandy, and Rachel or Catie.  Give us another chance next week, Van Fleet's, we promise to get it right.

Who better than the (ex) Nittany Lion himself to do pushups after a Penn State score?  Mike Zollars is still showing top form as he does (23?) one-handed pushups.  What a guy!

Deej is obviously delighted that our Lions are headed to a 23-10 victory, as she gives a big hug and squeeze to Beth Overmeyer.  Can you believe that Deej will soon be a grandmother?  We can't either, but she says her daughter is due to have a baby in late February or early March 2004.  Congrats, Deej!
