RON
SIDERS PASSES AWAY.
A long-time member of our chapter, Ron Siders, died on April 30, 2012, from
complications with pneumonia. Ron, along with his wife Rae, was an
active member of our chapter and a regular attendee at chapter
functions. Ron was a good friend to many of us and he truly will be
missed.
A gathering of
family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 17, at the LITTLETON
& RUE FUNERAL HOME. A service in celebration of his life will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, at High Street United Methodist Church.

BRADY
ROURKE WOWS AT SPRING BANQUET. Penn State's Academic Athletic
Advisor, Brady Rourke, had us hanging on his every word on Saturday, April
28, 2012, during our annual Spring Banquet. A commanding speaker,
young Mr. Rourke was eloquent as he stepped us through a variety of data
sets reflecting the academic excellence of our Nittany Lion
student-athletes. He left us feeling "Penn State prouder"
than ever. We're working on the story and pictures, which will be
uploaded soon.

CHILD ABUSE - WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP? Chapter
Prez Debbie Downes says the
Alumni Association reports that alumni are asking, "What can we do?"
The Penn State Alumni Association is proud to help support a grassroots
effort by alumnus, Jerry Needel '98, and several others, to establish www.proudtobeapennstater.com.
To help in showing what Penn Staters are truly about, the group partnered
with www.RAINN.org,
the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the country.

PENN STATE TOPS RECRUITER
RANKINGS. A recent Wall Street Journal survey identified
Penn State, Texas A & M, and the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign as the top three picks among corporate
recruiters.
Among other things, the WSJ article
states, "Recruiters say graduates of top public universities are
often among the most prepared and well-rounded academically, and companies
have found they fit well into their corporate cultures and over time have
the best track record in their firms."
